True to the name 'Shivam' - consciousness, mindfulness, - we strive to make our items by re-using our existing resources, and natural, organic materials.

Our yoga mat bags are handmade using upcycled, vintage fabrics, while the aromatherapy eye pillows are filled with the healing goodness of organic lavender buds and organic flax seeds.

We hope to extend and share the journey of these goods as they make their way around the world. From our house to yours.

Welcome to my blog at Shivam Creations.

Shivam means mindfulness in Sanskrit; this space is about trying to lead a mindful life and the elements that go with it: yoga, healthy living, nature, and the creative forces within each of us.

New Collection Preview!

Shivangi Parikh

Hello Folks... Hope your year is going well so far! I am super excited to share with you the latest on my end. If you recollect, I had talked about trying to introduce at least one new product type each year. Last year was about hand spun khadi tote bags and wallets. This year, my heart is set on making table linens from the the same khadi material! Here is a sneak peek at my first attempt.

Gray Warli Napkins_ShivamCreations

The dinner napkins feature screen printed folk art on khadi fabrics. The unique cotton linen blend makes it a great choice for the table: its super absorbent and gets thicker and softer with every wash. The texture of the fabric makes it look rich without hurting the wallet as much, which suits most savvy shoppers ;)

This print below is a traditional folk art called Warli painting, which comes from the Western region of India and dates back thousands of years. These simple stick like figures were used to depict various natural elements of earth, as well as daily life and activities of that era.

For the initial launch, I have only made one set of 6 napkins each in these different Warli options shown below.

Here is one of my favorite colors, peacock blue. The gold feather just makes it look like a luxury item! Some of you may have seen this recently on my Instagram or Facebook page. I think this one would be a great addition to a Spring or Summer brunch, don't you?

You can find more information about sizing, and check out more detailed pictures of the entire collection here.

I know these seem like a departure from my core yoga bags business, but trust me, its not. My yoga bags are going to be around till those fabrics and trims last! But being a creative, I cannot just stick to one design! lol. There is this constant need to reinvent my work. The core remains the same though: Making something that is stylish, functional and eco-friendly. These napkins are a great way to add zing to your place settings, while investing in something that you can use and re-use, instead of just buying disposable paper napkins.

Hope you like these!! Which one is your favorite??

Have a great weekend :)

xoxo, Shivangi
